My guess is that opposing offenses won’t be so quick to attack us vertically if they were facing a wall of fecal gas. But that’s just me. Maybe Marshall likes the smell of shit, who knows.
SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. – A man has been charged with battery on a police officer for allegedly passing gas and fanning it toward a patrolman.
Jose A. Cruz, 34, of Clarksburg, W. Va., was pulled over early Tuesday for driving without headlights, police said. According to the criminal complaint, Cruz smelled of alcohol, had slurred speech and failed three field sobriety tests before he was handcuffed and taken to a police station for a breathalyzer test.
As Patrolman T.E. Parsons prepared the machine, Cruz scooted his chair toward Parsons, lifted his leg and “passed gas loudly,” the complaint said.
Cruz, according to complaint, then fanned the gas toward the officer.
“The gas was very odorous and created contact of an insulting or provoking nature with Patrolman Parsons,” the complaint alleged.
Update: assault charges have been dropped. Defense obviously works.

Maybe a t-shirt? Something has to be done.
I have no idea how to get out the fact that our defense doesn’t suck. Not only does it not suck, it’s pretty damn awesome. This gives you a little better idea about this new-found awesomeness:
Defensively, the Mountaineers allowed only 214 yards and improved to No. 4 nationally. They rank in the top 12 in total defense, run defense, pass defense and scoring defense. The defense enabled the offense, as well, as fumble recoveries by Mortty Ivy and Marc Magro set up a field goal and a touchdown.
But you still get fucktards like Ivan Maisel who continued to bad-mouth the defense. Maybe we could just send Mortty Ivy door-to-door, terrorizing and intimidating individual commentators. Is that an NCAA violation? I certainly hope not.

We’re 5-1 today. It’s a respectable record, but not one we as fans are necessarily happy with.
If you had asked me at the beginning of the season, “Hey Charley, you stud, what might cause WVU to lose a game in the first half of the season?” My answer would have been simple. First, I would’ve punched you in the face for even suggesting such a thing. Then, after you stopped bleeding, I would’ve told you that you can go ahead and blame the defense. Surely, our offense wouldn’t be the culprit. Surely.
But there we were, unable to muster just about anything against USF’s defense. Only putting up 13 points in a game where even scoring just half our season average would have won the game. The offense let us down.
But the defense has been there week in and week out (save for the first half against Marshall). This past week at Syracuse, they showed up in a big way:
I think it’s high time (not High Times) we all gave the defense some credit. Here you go defense:

Owen Schmitt is a BAMF.
Well, the team that fell apart last week is putting a hurting on the Orange at the half. I have been keeping track of CRR’s play-calling and it is a lot better than last week.
By my count he has run around 12 different plays. I’m loving the triple option play and I can only wonder where the hell it was last week. We threw the ball down the field seven times and only threw five bubble screens, HALLELUJAH!!
Pat White looks healthy and is playing like a Heisman Candidate. Owen Schmitt looks like he wants to really hurt someone on every play, even if it is teammate. We have a ball-hawking defense, that is pretty good. Where is Devine?
